dc.description.abstract This article examines the perspectives of women in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) industry, highlighting the opportunities and challenges they face. Opportunities for women in the ICT industry are increasing as demand for technical talent continues to grow and ICT fields expand. However, women still face significant challenges in terms of participation and advancement in the given industry. Opportunities include increasing the number of ICT jobs and diversifying areas of specialization such as software development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, cyber security etc. There is also an increase in technology start-ups, which offer women the opportunity to develop their own businesses in the ICT domain. However, there are still significant challenges, gender stereotypes persist and women often face social and cultural barriers to areer choice and advancement. Also, the gender pay gap and access to opportunities for advancement into leadership positions remain unresolved issues. This article highlights initiatives and programs that aim to address these challenges. To fully explore the potential of women in the ICT industry, systemic changes are needed. Recommendations include improving STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education for girls and women, promoting successful role models in the industry, creating HR policies that promote diversity and inclusiveness, and actively engaging companies and the wider community This article highlights that while the ICT industry offers promising opportunities for women, continued efforts are needed to address the challenges and create an enabling work environment where women can thrive and make their full contribution in the ICT field.
