Clusters As a Mechanism for Boosting Exports to Increase the Competitiveness of the Economy

Abstract

In the context of economic globalization, identifying and exploiting growth opportunities is crucial to the success of a national economy. Clusters are effective solutions, recognized by governments around the world as catalysts for innovation and economic expansion. Success stories from around the world underline the importance of clusters in strengthening competitive advantages, boosting prosperity and developing local economies. Thus, clusters are becoming points of interest for the private sector and strategic objectives for countries such as the Republic of Moldova, which want to maximize their economic potential, especially in the perspective of EU integration. The study aims to examine the role of clusters as a mechanism to stimulate exports and increase economic competitiveness. The methodology involves the analysis and synthesis of research, publications, case studies and statistical data, comparing different situations and organizational models, as well as the experiences of other countries in managing economic clusters.
